The French Fraud King - $7.14 billion fraud by one man

French bank Societe Generale said Thursday it has uncovered a $7.14 billion fraud -- one of history's biggest -- by a single futures trader who fooled investors and overstepped his authority. The trader, who was not named, used his knowledge of the group's security systems to conceal his fraudulent positions, a statement from the bank said.Could it be that markets were unwinding because of the $7B of bad trades being dumped on the markets? Could it be that Bernake has the fortitude of a bowl of Jell-O? Could it be that the Fed needs to get the hell out and let the supposed free market work without intervention? America is becoming the worlds financial bitch, and the tax payer is the condom. Bring on the Thunderbird and cheap hookers cause the dream is over.Even more strange is that Soc Gen's stock was only down 4% on the news. 4 percent! Two whole year's worth of profit wiped out in an instant, 4% penalty..Meanwhile, Apple guides Q2 earnings slightly lower than analyst ...

Blue Ray - our future generation disk

Image
Blu-ray, also known as Blu-ray Disc (BD), is the name of a next-generation optical disc format jointly developed by the Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA), a group of the world's leading consumer electronics, personal computer and media manufacturers (including Apple, Dell, Hitachi, HP, JVC, LG, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Pioneer, Philips, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, TDK and Thomson). The format was developed to enable recording, rewriting and playback of high-definition video (HD), as well as storing large amounts of data. The format offers more than five times the storage capacity of traditional DVDs and can hold up to 25GB on a single-layer disc and 50GB on a dual-layer disc. This extra capacity combined with the use of advanced video and audio codecs will offer consumers an unprecedented HD experience. While current optical disc technologies such as DVD, DVD±R, DVD±RW, and DVD-RAM rely on a red laser to read and write data, the new format uses a blue-violet laser instead, hence the name Blu-...

Tata Nano - The 1 lakh Car..........!!

Image
Sounds good to hear that tata has lunched a car for the people of india and that to for common man. The people’s car, the Nano, will sell for 100,000 rupees or $2,500 (£1,277) and enable those in developing countries to move to four wheels. The four-door five-seater car, which goes on sale later this year, has a 33bhp, 624cc, engine at the rear. It has no air conditioning, no electric windows and no power steering, but two deluxe models will be on offer. The low price of the car has surprised the global car industry. It will make driving safer for many families who currently use motorcycles to get around. Let us replace all of the flimsy auto-rickshaws with Tata Nano.A new Auto-Rickshaw costs almost one lakh. Make them bright yellow like Yellow Cab for safety. The city will look nice. Anyways its a proud moment for India and let’s hope this inspires more innovative ideas...........!!

Global Warming - The End is not too far.........

Image
Global warming is the increase in the average temperature of the Earth's near-surface air and oceans in recent decades and its projected continuation. The global average air temperature near the Earth's surface rose 0.74 ± 0.18 °C during the 100 year period ending in 2005, which is higher than the earlier estimate of 0.6 ± 0.2 °C for the period ending in 2000. Most studies focus on the period up to 2100, warming and sea level rise are expected to continue for more than a millennium.Increasing global temperature will cause sea level to rise, and is expected to increase the intensity of extreme weather events and to change the amount and pattern of precipitation. Other effects of global warming include changes in agricultural yields, trade routes, glacier retreat, species extinctions and increases in the ranges of disease vectors. The detailed causes of the recent warming remain an active field of research, but the scientific consensus identifies elevated levels of greenhouse gas...
